Final Fantasy Type 0 Localization Confirmed, Moogles in Vs

Earlier this week, Spanish website Vandal published some information coming from Final Fantasy Type-0 producer Yoshinori Kitase. Kitaske told the site that Type-0 would be seeing localization in North America and Europe. Strangely, the news was removed shortly after it was spread around the net.

In any case, localization of Type-0 has now been completely confirmed. Some news from the Final Fantasy Type-0 Ultimania guide is beginning to leak out, and it does in fact say that Square Enix is now working on the overseas edition. Perhaps an official announcement will be made soon.

Type-0 Ultimania also contains a tidbit on Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Tetsuya Nomura mentions in the guide that the Moogles in the game will be similar to Type 0′s.

Keep your eyes peeled on any additional news discovered in Final Fantasy Type-0 Ultimania.

Tales of Xillia - Content Cut Due To Time Constraints

Tales of Xillia didn't include all the content it was supposed to, according to producer Hideo Baba.

Speaking in an interview with the official Tales of Xillia complete guide, recently released in Japan, Baba said many planned features were excluded due to time constraints.

A hot springs event; an area similar to Tales of Vesperia and Tales of the Abyss' Nam Cobanda Isle; two more playable characters (including Gaius); and secret missions similar to Tales of Vesperia's are just some of the initially planned features for Xillia.

The past few Tales releases have all received an update a year or two after release including additional content.

Skyrim Gets Perfect Score From Famitsu

Just two weeks after scoring The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword perfect, Famitsu has awarded its seventeenth perfect score of 40/40 to Bethesda Softworks’ The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

This marks the first time a western-developed game has earned a perfect score from Famitsu. Congratulations, Bethesda.

Beyond the Labyrinth - Create Your Own Costumes

In tri-Ace's 3DS dungeon RPG Beyond the Labyrinth, you'll get to create your very own costumes for the heroine character who serves as the face for the game. The costume creation tool was created from scratch, explained art director Kagami. Director Suguro joked that they knew players would want the ability to change the characters' costumes, but because creating costumes would be a lot of work for the designers, they decided to let the players create the costumes for themselves.

The scribbles that you make on the lower screen are reflected in real time on the girl's clothing in the top screen. You can also change other areas of the girl, including hair color. Your edits can be saved to SD in JPEG format.

New Details About Square Enix's UE3 Action RPG

Square Enix is working on an original action RPG project that makes use of the Unreal Engine. A few additional bits have surfaced from Famitsu's reveal feature.

The new game is being developed internally at Square Enix under the eye of Ryutaro Ichimura. Ichimura's exact role on the game is unclear, but he's usually a producer.

While the game goes unnamed in the magazine, it will not be a Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy game.
In comments shared with Famitsu, Ichimura reveals that he and the game's staff traveled the world for the past two years and conducted user surveys to research art and gameplay direction for the game. They've finalized the basics.

Famitsu shows image art for what appears to be a main character, heroine, rival and boss. No solid details are provided, so these are just guesses.

It looks like Famitsu's reveal article is meant to be part of a staff solicitation to join the current core team of 35. Square Enix is looking for planners, programmers (network, 3D graphics, physics, animation) and designers (art, motion, VFX, background modeling and character modeling).

Final Fantasy Type 0 Sequel Framework In The Works

Tabata says that he's been thinking about a sequel to The 3rd Birthday, the game he directed before Type-0. However, he believes that Square Enix policy will require that he work on somehting else -- specifically, a new entry in the subseries spawned by Type-0. In fact, a framework for a sequel in the "Type" series is already being worked on, he said.
